Digital Innovation Festival Victoria #DIF

The 2019 digital innovation festival or what we call #DIF is a festival that is running from the 23rd of August to the 6th of September. It is organised by the Victorian government, the goal of the festival is to help people understand what are the emerging technology and how technology is actually working to address some of the societal problems.

The Speakers

I will be sharing the scene with 2 great leaders, both of them have extensive experience in artificial intelligence and both of them have achieved multiple successes in the industry.

Mary Anne Williams

Prof. Mary-Anne Williams

Professor Mary-Anne Williams is an Australian Ai and Robotics researcher, Distinguished Research Professor at the University of Technology Sydney, Fellow at CODEX at Stanford University, and the Australian Academy of Technological Science and Engineering (ASTE). Mary-Anne is a leading authority on AI.

She is Director of the UTS Magic Lab a leader in real-world AI applications. She works closely with government and industry including the United Nations, South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD); Softbank; WiseTech Global; CBA; IBM and Deloitte.

Dheeren is an award-winning AI professional and leads the Capgemini Invent’s AI agenda with clients, guiding them in adopting AI & Cognitive technologies to implement innovative and game-changing solutions.

Working at the intersection of AI, big data and automation, Dheeren is a thought leader in the Applied Enterprise AI field, with a wide-ranging experience in emerging digital technologies across various industry verticals.

Hugo Richard

CEO and Co-founder of Dystech, I am a serial entrepreneur, I have been working with artificial intelligence for many years now. From disruptive startups in Australia to business analyst in the UK, I have experience in both the startup and corporate world.

Some of my ventures include Geom, Koxai (sold in 2017) and Dystech.

What will we be talking about?

In one sentence: how AI can be used for real-world problems.

The thinking in AI has changed from ‘What’s possible?’ to ‘How do I do this?

During our session, we will be taking a closer look at some of the ways artificial intelligence and machine learning are being used to solve real-world problems, to improve society and also make people’s lives better.
